Directions for taking the correct measurements:

Preferably measure immediately (i.e. within 3 days) after a trim. You should ensure that the trim has removed all protuberances, wings and flares.

Measure in a straight line across the widest part of the sole - a ruler is better than a tape measure.

The ruler should be placed ACROSS the hoof,-usually crossing near the tip of the frog (see diagram). You should not measure from front to back, or diagonally, even if these measurements are bigger.

If the horse has not recently been trimmed, and there are tears, wings or flares, these should be discounted from your measurement. An allowance should be made for excess hoof which will be trimmed. The excess hoof material must be removed before the boots are fitted to the hoof.

The Marquis Supergrip will allow for normal hoof growth - on average about 6 weeks, but if the hoof grows excessively it must be trimmed again to ensure a continued good fit.

We are happy to exchange the boots if you order the wrong size - please see
our excellent after sales care and returns policy.

If your horse has unusual hooves or you are concerned about the sizing, you can post a template to us:
